x Syndrome Symptoms

X syndrome symptoms are present in many forms. Also called metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance syndrome. X syndrome is a cluster of conditions that occur together, increasing your risk of diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

X syndrome is made up of a group of factors that can increase risk even if they are only moderately raised. Metabolic syndrome itself usually has no symptoms. Most of the risk factors linked to metabolic syndrome have no signs or symptoms, although a large waistline is a visible sign.

Symptoms of X Syndrome

Having X syndrome means you have several disorders and symptoms and signs related to your metabolism at the same time, including:

  • Resistance to insulin
  • Obesity, particularly around your waist (having an "a large waistline")
  • Elevated blood pressure
  • Low level of the "good" cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol
  • High level of the blood fat, triglycerides

If you have x syndrome symptoms, follow a healthy eating plan and increase your physical activity to manage your weight and quit smoking. Always check with your doctor if you are aware of related x syndrome symptoms or signs or metabolic syndrome. High cholesterol, high blood pressure or if you have a large waistline. Your doctor may recommend testing for other components of the syndrome to avoid and prevent other disease risk factors.
